  • Margaret River Main Break

    Located at Surfers Point, this iconic reef break is famous for its big waves and solid swells. The left-hand reef break is several hundred meters offshore and is surfed on swells up to 4 meters. On bigger days it is definitely for advanced and experienced surfers only. Also popular with kite surfers and wind surfers on windy onshore days. The car park offers an excellent vantage point for watching surfers and for whale watching from September-November. Disabled/wheelchair access toilets are available here.

  • Jewel Cave

    Jewel Cave is the biggest show cave in Western Australia; comprising three massive chambers. It is also home to one of the longest straw stalactites found in any tourist cave in Australia.

    Fully guided one-hour tours showcase the breathtaking magnitude of Jewel Cave. You will see towering crystal creations that have taken thousands of years to form, and intricate decorations stretching and suspended across the ceiling, like vines and dancing cobwebs. You'll also hear stories of the now-extinct Tasmanian Tigers that fell into the cave and perished. The Jewel Cave Centre also features an interpretive area that will take visitors on an educational, visual and inspiring fifty-year journey.

  • Mammoth Cave

    Mammoth Cave is the most easily accessible of all the show caves in the region, with the first chamber actually accessible by wheelchair. It is a self-guided cave, where you explore on your own while listening to an informative 'audio tour' through the MP3 player and headset provided. You are free to wander at your own pace along the boardwalks and platforms, through the majestic chambers of the cave. Mammoth Cave is also one of just a few caves in the south west which contains fossils. A visit to Mammoth Cave finishes with a winding walk through the beautiful marri forest, with whistling birds and stunning flora displays. Mammoth Cave is much more than a cave - it is a complete nature experience.

  • Lake Cave

    Lake Cave is, to put it simply, a mirrored wonderland. Home to the "suspended table" a spectacular crystal decoration weighing several tonnes that hangs from the ceiling, almost touching the waters of the lake. It is thought that this may be the only decoration of its kind in the world. Lake Cave is the most 'actively dripping' cave in the south west, and it's the only cave on the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge that has a permanent lake.

    The cave is one of the deepest on the ridge, with entry access through a spectacular doline - a large hole in the earth's surface. There is an interpretative centre onsite, designed to help you learn about the formation and history of caves within the region, throughout Australia and around the world.

  • Boranup Forest

    Towering karri trees, some over 60m in height, undulate across the valley. With sunlight streaming onto their smooth trunks, this is one of the best sights in Your Margaret River Region.

  • Vasse Felix
